ABOUT ME

I have been hiking and back packing for a long time spanning over decades in different places. From multi-day minimalist, yes, barefoot hikes in the Himalayas to comfortably equipped hikes here in Vermont. This blog is about the latter.

My aim is to totally enjoy my time in the woods and hope to inspire or nudge others who may wish to do so but may feel intimidated by the prospect of a multi-day hike due to age, fear of imagined lurking dangers or the preconceived idea that out there in the woods discomfort is ruling.

This is about the amazing comfort in nature. Take a break. Live with the sun rising and going down setting your timetable.

Enjoy a rainy day in a shelter, under a tarp or in a tent. Learn how to enjoy doing nothing, or reading a book, taking a nap, all of the above. Or, hike on with a raincoat or poncho to the next campsite
